One of the most cherished and fun holiday activities for young and old is seeing all of the Christmas light displays around the community. Southwest Florida has many options for viewing high-quality, bright, and beautiful Christmas lights. Whether you are looking for a place to walk through or drive through, plenty of options exist. Below are some of our favorite spots to view Christmas lights. Be sure to check them out this holiday season.
Walk Through Christmas Lights
If you have little kids who don't enjoy being in the car, or if you're looking for a place to take a Christmas stroll, Southwest Florida has several options to see Christmas lights outside of your car. Here are some of our favorite spots to walk through and see Christmas lights:
McQuade Family Christmas Lightshow
This local favorite home is beautifully decorated and has regular characters present, such as Santa, the Grinch, Olaf, and the Sugar Plum Fairy to meet with your kids. The McQuades open their gates so families can walk through their Christmas light display. Their address is 11619 Ranchette Rd, Fort Myers. Check out their Facebook page for more information on the hours, characters present at the show, and how you can donate to a recipient family in need chosen by the McQuades.
Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium: Holiday Lights
The Calusa Nature Center and Planetarium in Fort Myers features its Holiday Lights experience every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening in December. You can walk the 1/3 mile fully decorated trail, enjoy holiday music, and view decorations around the nature center. Holiday Lights runs from 6 to 9:30 pm each weekend night and costs $10 for adults, $5 for children and is free for members.
Holiday Nights at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates
Holiday Nights at the Edison and Ford Winter Estates is back for its 49th year and has been revamped with additional light displays. You'll see thousands of lights and historic decorations at the Estates for this exceptional SWFL holiday experience. Holiday Nights runs from November 29th- December 23rd and December 26th to January 5th from 5:30 to 9:00 pm.
Cape Christian Christmas Village
Every year, Cape Christian in Cape Coral transforms their property into a lit-up and fully decorated Christmas Village. The Christmas Village runs from December 5th to December 23rd from 6pm-9pm. Cape Christian is located at 21100 Chiquita Blvd. S. Cape Coral, FL 33991.
Fisherman's Village Festival of Lights
The Fisherman's Village in Punta Gorda is decorated with more than one million lights and many holiday decorations inside and outside the Village. They are open daily and located at 1200 W Retta Esplanade, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
Bonita Springs Holiday Stroll
Every night in December, from dusk to 9 pm, you can stroll the Downtown Bonita Springs Riverside Park to view the holiday lights and decorations and enjoy holiday music. Riverside Park is located at 10450 Reynolds St., Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
Drive Through Christmas Lights
If you're looking for the best areas to drive through to see Christmas lights, each year, the News-Press puts out its holiday-lights map to help people find the best-lighted homes, businesses, and venues in Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Once the News Press releases this map, we will post it to our social media pages. Stay tuned for this information. Magic of Lights Naples
The Magic of Lights is a drive-through holiday light experience with holiday characters and scenes using digital animations and LED technology. There is a price for each car that enters the complex and tickets are cheapest purchased online in advance. The Magic of Lights runs from 6-9pm Monday through Thursday and 6-10pm, Friday through Sunday. It is located at 3908 City Gate Blvd. N, Naples, FL 34117.
Victoria Park Naples
Victoria Park in Naples is a community located off Airport-Pulling Road with some of the most beautiful Christmas lights in the area. Most of the homes in the community are decorated with lights. This community attracts many people, so be prepared for a slow drive through the neighborhood.
Babcock Ranch
The Babcock Ranch community and the downtown area are known for having beautiful Christmas lights. Many homes are decorated with lights, and the Founder's Square area and the boardwalk are beautifully lit and decorated.
