A Review for Miller Septic

A Review for Miller Septic
There are more exciting things to spend money on than pumping your septic tank, but neglecting it can cause less desirable outcomes and cost you a lot more money. We have lived in our home for about four and a half years, and we thought it was time to get our tank pumped so we could gauge how often it would need to be serviced in the future. We hired a company to pump the tank for $400. When their technician pumped our tank, we were informed that there was an issue with our drain field. The company said they would have someone else come out to evaluate the drain field. More than a week passed without a scheduling call or evaluation being completed. We decided to get a second opinion in case we were told we needed a new drain field, so we called Miller Septic to come out and evaluate the drain field. Their representative came out early the next morning. The first thing he told us was that a septic tank has two covers; one side contains more solid waste, and the other side has more wastewater. The second thing he told us was that the other company never removed our solid waste! Then he showed us that the drain field was indeed working, as water was flowing. He scheduled a technician to come pump the tank, which they did the next morning. This technician showed us that the tank was indeed full, and we were fortunate to learn that it needed to be pumped before it was too late; otherwise, our septic system would have backed up. This technician also educated us on how to care for our septic system to keep it in good working order and about the dangers of disposing of grease down the drain. We don’t put grease in our drain, but it was good information to pass on. Grease going down the drain can cause significant damage at a substantial cost. Miller Septic charged us $375 to pump our tank, but it was money well spent. Both technicians from Miller Septic arrived before we expected them to and were professional, knowledgeable, and honest. We are very grateful for their expertise, and that we didn’t need to replace our drain field, which could have cost as much as $20,000. In the future, there will only be one company we will call for our septic system maintenance: Miller Septic!
